HISTORY

Cuda Tools roots go back to 1986.  At that time the Nance family’s primary company was Tungco, Inc, which recycled tungsten carbide; a large part of this business involved recovery of tungsten from mining drill bits.  In 1986 the company began rebuilding these drill bits predominantly for the coal industry.  By 1996, the business had evolved and was incorporated as Cuda Tools, Inc.  The company expanded into new bit production in addition to rebuilding of the drill bits, reaching markets in hard rock mining as well as coal.  Operations began solely in Kentucky but quickly grew to include West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Wyoming, as well.

In 2000, Cuda expanded into hard facing and wear applications for ground engagement, forestry and construction by application of tungsten carbide to wear surfaces.  Products for oil and gas drilling, as well as tar sands, led to opening facilities in Canada.

Today, Cuda Tools continues to manufacture drill bits for mining, drilling and construction.  We also offer auxiliary products such as drill steel, chucks and sleeves for drilling needs.  Cuda provides application of tungsten carbide for tough wear conditions.

The road to the future of our industry looks rocky.  However, Cuda welcomes the challenges ahead.  The tough conditions provide us the opportunity to provide safe and cost efficient tools and products to our industry.  We look forward to continued growth by helping our customers achieve their goals and needs.
